The Office Goodbye Party

Any The Office fans out there?!! Last night was bitter sweet as my husband and I watched the finale episode of a show we LOVE! We have seen every episode and watch them again and again on netflix. It's still funny no matter how many times you see it! It never gets old..

It's such a weird feeling to know that it is over. In the back of my mind I know they are just actors, but a part of me wants to believe that Jim and Pam are real!! And Michael Scott, man I genuinely missed that guy! I nearly cried when he showed up again in last night's episode!

If you're not familiar with The Office, you're missing out. You need to start it from the beginning and watch them on netflix. It is an awkward and hilarious show!!

For those of you who do know the show, check out my Office Party...

As a snack, I made jello! Our utensils were stuck inside of course. "Jim put my stuff in jello again!"

And I drank from Michael Scott's mug ...
..as well as dressed up for the "Finer Things Club".

For fun, we played a "That's what she said" game. Throughout the evening whoever could fit in "that's what she said" into the conversation got a point. Whoever had the most points at the end of the night won!

I also wanted to make "Paper Pancakes" like from the episode Michael makes rectangular pancakes to look like paper...I was going to make them before the show came on at eight! Little did I know, they had an hour show before the finale where they were talking with the cast and looking back on all the memories. I couldn't pull myself away to make my paper pancakes.

Diy Tissue Paper Poms

This past week my sister asked me to make a crafty background as a "photo booth" for a get together a group of us moms had. She asked me on Thursday and needed it done by Friday morning! Jeesh! Not a lot of time to whip up anything fancy! Thankfully I knew how to make these tissue paper poms and so I thought I would share how to make them with you in case you are ever in a crunch to make some party decor or what not...

Supplies:
~Tissue Paper
~Wire (or string works fine)
~scissors

First, lay your tissue paper flat. I like to have around 4 layers of tissue.

Fold your paper like a fan..back and forth approximately 1" wide.

When you have it all folded it should look like this.

Cut the two ends off so they make a point.

Next you need to pinch the middle (as shown) and wrap a piece of wire around it. I don't like to wrap the wire too snug..if you wrap the wire just slightly loose it will make the next step much easier.

Fan out and spread the tissue paper.

Take the first layer and separate it from the other layers as shown.

Continue separating each layer as shown...

..and your pom should look like this. Now fan out and spread the layers on the other end of the pom.

I like to add a small piece of tape to the middle and pinch the 2 inner linings together so you can't see the middle part where the wire is (even though it's probably not necessary).

TaDa!! Your pom is done!! Woot!

Once you get the hang of it they are so fast and easy!

Here is how my photo background turned out!! Not bad for only having a day to come up with it!

What's so funny??!!
Ha! To make the party even more fun we had a craft activity where we had to make a funny prop to wear in the picture! I made glasses from pipe cleaners and an adorable mustache from construction paper.
Yea, you should be jealous.

Pouf! I did it!!

Have you seen these?! Aren't these floor poufs adorable?! I found this pouf along with an amazing tutorial over at Living with Punks and couldn't believe how easy it was to follow! I had never sewn with piping before and I couldn't believe how simple it was. I decided to make one for my adorable nephew for his birthday. He was getting a train set for his birthday so I thought a floor cushion would be perfect to have by his train table! Needless to say..

...he loved it!!

It was my first floor pouf but it won't be my last!

My Bible Cover

I finally made one! I've been wanting to make a cover for my bible for awhile now..I just couldn't find a good tutorial! I still didn't find one so I just winged it! Sorry I didn't make a tutorial myself to show you how, I kept adjusting and changing so much along the way that I don't even know the measurements I ended up using! ha! Oh well...

It's not perfect by any means, but I love it flaws and all! The best part is the strap has velcro so it holds all my pages together nicely! And the gray flower I added is a pin so I can take it  on and off or add different flowers to it! Cute?

Quilted Zipper Pouch!

Today I made THIS!! It's a quilted zipper pouch! It's originally supposed to be a pencil bag but I'm going to use it for lipgloss, mints, or cash in my purse (you know all the little stuff that falls to the bottom of your purse that you can never find)...It's great! I LOVE it! And it was super easy!! Don't let the zipper scare you! Believe me, if I can do it, you can too! The tutorial over at Sweet Verbana is awesome! Check her & her tutorial out HERE!! Be sure to check out her other projects, she makes the cutest things!

Rufflle Zipper Pouch

Today I made this cute little zipper pouch! I LOVE ruffles so I added a ruffle across the front for extra cuteness! This was a challenge for me. This is the 3rd time I've made one and I'm still struggling! It's a pretty simple project but I have a tough time figuring out how to sew the zipper ends towards the end of the project. I think I'm going to keep trying until I get it ...eventually I will get it, right? Let's hope so! Despite its flaws, I still think it's adorable and zipper pouches are so useful! I can think of so many things I can use it for! It's great to stick all those little items you need in a purse/diaper bag that always seem to get lost at the bottom! This will fix that!
Try a ruffle pouch yourself!! I used the tutorial found HERE!!

Also, have you ever looked at Pink Stitches blog? I LOVE it! She makes the cutest stuff! Check her tutorial out HERE!!
